Why Is Everyone Talking About Ionized Water?

March 19th, 2010 admin Posted in Shopping | Comments Off

Ionized water, sometimes know as “kangen water” provides alkaline antioxidant water. The water ionizer first filters tap water after which splits it into two different streams. One is acidic and the other is actually alkaline. Popularly accepted health and fitness experts for instance Doctor. Robert O. Young, proponets of a “alkaline diet” recommend them. The way of thinking is that with our american eating habits, many of us obtain too much acid food intake, as a result producing an consistent negative pH balance within our bodies. Increasing intake of meals that has a higher alkaline value such as vegetables “raise” our alkaline balance. Read the rest of this entry »

Finding the Perfect Outdoor Bar and Tables

February 5th, 2010 admin Posted in Entertainment | Comments Off

Last year about this time, the pool contractors finally finished our in ground pool in the backyard. As wonderful as it was to have to pool ready for spring we didn’t have any pool or deck furniture even picked out so we had our work cut out for us. We found a patio set rather quickly but we looked for quite some time for a particular Eucalyptus Bar Table that my husband had seen somewhere and the only thing he remembered was the name of the table. The Mother Load of Storage Options

January 6th, 2010 admin Posted in Home Decor | Comments Off

I hate shopping. So when my wife and I decided to get a storage building for the backyard I had to get ready to shop, at least for a day. We went to one place to see wooded sheds then another to see vinyl sheds and yet another that said they had metal sheds but they really had wood sheds. They had this size and that size but not the size I really wanted so we went home empty handed though we were ready to buy. My son then got on the internet and found a store with an array of large outdoor plastic storage options. Read the rest of this entry »

Inexpesive Gift Ideas Just Right for Hostess Gifts

December 21st, 2009 admin Posted in Gifts | Comments Off

Have you been invited to a party, get together or to someone’s house for a holiday dinner? Then do not forget to take a hostess gift. Remember your friends or family have gone to considerable work and expense to host their event. They may have even taken time off from work to get ready. Be considerate and show that you have good etiquette, know that it is appropriate to take your hosts or hostess a small gift like the Chicago Cutlery Cheese Set. As a young would-be bride, my soon to be mother in-law’s friends were throwing a bridal shower luncheon at a fancy venue on my behalf. I didn’t know to take hostess gifts to the ladies who were doing this favor for my mother in-law. My mother in-law never said a word of criticism to me (she was very kind), but that time it registered. I had been embarrassed twice by my own social naivety, and I’ve never done that again.

A hostess gift need not be a big deal. Essentially what you are saying is I know you have gone to trouble and expense to invite me, so here is a small gift to show my appreciation. The gift can be as simple as a bottle of wine, flowers, or a pretty candle. If you know your hostess likes to cook, buy them a kitchen gadget that they wouldn’t buy for themselves. It’s like getting a toy. If they like to entertain, then buy them a cheese board or pretty baking dish. An upscale cork screw would make a nice gift, and in the case of my cookie exchange, I could have taken my hostess some new baking sheets or cookie cutters. In the event you have already been to your party and have been remiss in giving a hostess gift, it’s not too late. You can send them a gift basket and that serve double duty as a hostess gift and thank you note. Who wouldn’t love to be surprised even it’s been a couple of weeks since your event. There are numerous gift baskets to suit different interests and your budget. You can order on line and write your own message of appreciation. It’s as simple as that, and your reputation of having good social skills has been preserved.

Balance Fitness Using An Exercise Ball

August 19th, 2009 admin Posted in Health & Fitness | Comments Off

Basic ball exercises to help your balance and stability are easy to do for any beginner. First try to sit on a stability ball. If you never done this before you will quickly notice how a slight shift in weight can bring on some instability. So begin by holding the ball with your hands to the sides in a seated position. Now slowly roll your hips making small, controlled circles. Once you feel you’ve mastered this, try doing the same exercise but this time increase the size of the circles. Repeat this exercise circling to the left than to the right. Read the rest of this entry »

An Affordable Oval Hanging Pot Rack

August 13th, 2009 admin Posted in Cooking, Food & Wine | Comments Off

I am always looking for ways to organize my home and especially my kitchen.  It seems I never have enough cabinet space and I’m certainly not thrilled when I see clutter building up on my counter tops. There are some things I like to keep handy of course, like my teapot on the stove, my corner canisters with our most-used treats and teas, my blender which I use constantly, and my vegetable juicer. I’ve managed to add a few slide out shelves to place my other small appliances in, plus I found a slanted shelf that is perfect for my spice bottles.  Since I have a center island, I’ve decided to add a wrought iron oval pot rack above it to place my favorite cookware pieces on. Realistic Sterling Silver Bird Pendants

July 28th, 2009 admin Posted in Shopping | Comments Off

As a long-time bird lover, I was ecstatic to find these realistic bird necklaces. I’m more of a bird watcher than a bird owner, so I was especially happy to see a raven pendant. (I’m one of those rare people who actually love crows and ravens.) But I am pretty interested in the exotic birds as well, especially in the form of sterling silver African Grey. I believe it’s just the idea of something flying that gives me such a thrill. Read the rest of this entry »
