Finally, I Can Tell that Spring is Just Around the Corner

When I listened to the birds singing outside this morning I’m not sure what gave me the most pleasure, actually hearing them early in the day or knowing that it’s finally warm enough to have the window open enough to listen. In some ways it surprises me that I can still extract so much pleasure from something as simple as spying the first Robin of the Spring, but as long as it keeps working for me I think I’ll just sit back and enjoy it. But before I sit down there are a few things that spring demands that I do and the first is to open up the new Ceramic – Bronze Shell Shaped bird bath I bought last fall and get it out into the back yard.

I think that birthbath was one of the best garden ideas I had last fall when I picked it up during and end of season sale – although I think it’s pretty reasonably priced even at full shot. I’ll set it up on the included 37 inch high stake, probably in the back corner, where the robins and soon the tanagers and jays will be more likely to venture. I think I’ll pick up another one for my Mom’s yard. It’ll make a great Mother’s Day gift idea and sometimes I have a hard time coming up with a good garden gift for my mom.
