Any hobby or interest that requires lots of little things is the perfect theme for inexpensive birthday presents for men & women.  If you know any cooking enthusiasts, you will find it easy to put together a gift basket they will love. To start with, there are lots of cooking gadgets that can make their way into a basket. Cooks never have enough wooden spoons or tiny prep bowls for measuring out ingredients. A second kitchen timer lets you time more than one dish simultaneously. Skewers are used any time of year, on and off the grill, and often get lost. Any good home store has a whole wall of kitchen gadgets priced at only a dollar or two.

Then there are the goodies. Cooks love trying new and different seasonings and flavorings, or getting more of an old favorite. Especially if your friend lives in a different part of the country, you can include regional specialties from your hometown. Is there a special jam or sauce that is only made nearby? Flavored salts are very fashionable these days. Fancy nuts are always a favorite, and for many people, chocolate! (Be careful of temperature conditions, though, if you’re shipping chocolate). And a very special touch is to write out a few favorite recipes, especially if they include some of the ingredients in the birthday gift baskets—they will be treasured after everything else is used up.
